Sourdough donuts

These donuts are delicious and baked with sourdough and a nice chocolate glaze.

Ingrédients

For the donuts

  • 170 g of flour
  • 130 ml of milk
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 100 g of starter active or leftover starter
  • 60 g of melted butter
  • 5 ml of vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 g of salt
  • 5 g of baking powder
  • 2.5 g of baking soda

For the chocolate glaze

  • 120 g of powdered sugar
  • 15 g of cocoa powder
  • 2 ml of vanilla extract
  • 30-45 ml of milk

Instructions

For the donuts

  • Melt the butter.
    60 g of melted butter
  • In a bowl: mix the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
    170 g of flour, 100 g of sugar, 5 g of baking powder, 2.5 g of baking soda, 2 g of salt
  • In another bowl, using a whisk: mix the butter, egg, vanilla extract, starter, and milk.
    130 ml of milk, 100 g of starter, 5 ml of vanilla extract, 1 egg, 60 g of melted butter
  • Mix all the ingredients together.
  • Option: cover with cling film and let ferment in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Butter a donut pan. Place the dough in it.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F or 175°C.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.

For the chocolate glaze

  • Whisk together the icing sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and milk. Add the milk little by little to achieve the desired consistency.

  • Dip the donut into the glaze, then lift it while letting the excess chocolate drip off. Then place it on a plate or a wire rack; the glaze will harden.
